Dear All,
With the current COVID-19 situation, we are encouraging all those voters who qualify for a mail-in absentee ballot to take advantage of that option.  To make it easier to request an absentee application for any of your Kenton County registered voters, there is now a link on the clerk website so that they can do their request online.

As the CDC and other health organizations caution the public over gathering in public spaces, the Kenton County Clerk’s Office would like to offer the public other options to access the office.

Starting Monday, March 16, 2020, the Independence location of the Kenton County Clerk’s office will be closed and the staff at that location will be temporarily working at the Covington location at 1840 Simon Kenton Way, Covington.
We are encouraging customers to use the following online options instead of visiting the office 


OPTION 1: use the online renewal at  You will need a credit card to process this payment.

OPTION 2: Mail in the renewal at Kenton County Clerk at P.O. Box 1109, Covington, KY 41011

OPTION 3: Call 859-392-1602.  You will need a credit card to process this payment

If you are paying with cash then you may visit the office at 1840 Simon Kenton Way, Covington, KY

TRANSFER OF A CAR: You will need to visit the office so please look at the signage near the door before entering the office.  We hope to give an appropriate distance between customers.


The record room at the Covington location will be closed and available upon request by stopping by the Real Estate Department.

ACCESSING REAL ESTATE RECORDS ONLINE:   Use or go to for records from 1991 forward.  If you need to access records prior to 1991, you can come to the Covington location and go to the Real Estate Department to ask for access.

Anyone using the public inquiry computers in the record room must use a Clorox wipe to wipe down the keyboard after they are doing working that that computer.

PAYING DELINQUENT TAXES:  Customers who need to pay any tax bill that is owed prior to 2019 can call 859-392-1650 and pay them over the phone with use of a credit card.

VOTER REGISTRATION:  If you need to update your voter registration, you may do so online at  You can also download a voter registration card from the Secretary of State’s website at or on the clerk’s website.
