The City of Villa Hills has been awarded CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) COVID funding from the Department of Local Government. These funds are being administered by the Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission (NKCAC). This money is here to serve as a resource to families living in our city who have been financially impacted by COVID and are at risk of utility shutoff. This would include utilities arrearages to date. You can apply to the NKCAC for up to $1,500 in assistance to pay overdue utility expenses (gas, electric, water, sanitation/sewer). Once an application is approved, NKCAC will submit payment directly to the utility service provider on behalf of the household. Each applicant (one per household) can receive assistance up to $250 a month up to six months.
Here is the best part: You DO NOT have to be low income to apply. We recognize many are impacted, and the increased cost of living associated with COVID impact, missed work, and job losses can impact folks without their necessarily being low income. Once again, THERE IS NO INCOME CAP OR QUALIFIER!!!!! We encourage all of our residents struggling to become current on utility payments to apply.
Utilities you can receive assistance with include:
- Duke Energy
- Northern Kentucky Water District
- Sanitation District No. 1
