Seasonal Part-Time Laborer – Public Works
The City of Villa Hills, Kentucky is seeking a seasonal, part-time Laborer to assist our Public Works Department. Performs seasonal work in the repair and maintenance of parks, roads, facilities, grass cutting, concrete panel removal, and other duties needed to perform daily tasks. This position will work approximately 29 hours per week through an estimated seasonal end time in October.
Hourly rate between $10 -$12. Work on evenings and weekends may be required on occasion. Must be able to work outdoors and in adverse weather conditions such as extreme heat and cold; precipitation; rain, dust; mud; etc. Able to walk, sit, stand, use hands, listen/hear, climb/balance, stoop, kneel and crouch for extended periods of time. Ability to traverse adverse terrain and be able to lift up to 100 pounds on occasion; frequently lift 50 pounds and lift 25 pounds on a daily basis. Must have valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.

Sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment and services for the APPLEBLOSSOM DRIVE CONCRETE REPLACEMENT PROJECT will be received until 2:00 P.M. E.S.T. on June 30, 2017, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

Copies of the Specifications and Contract Documents may be obtained upon payment of $25.00 for each set at CARDINAL ENGINEERING. The payment is non-refundable for anyone desiring specifications and bid documents.
Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount equal to ten (10) percent of the bid to insure the execution of the contract for which the bid is made. In case the bid is not accepted, the check or bid bond will be returned to the Bidder, but if the Bid is accepted and the Bidder shall refuse or neglect to enter into a contract with the City within ten (10) days from the time he is notified of the acceptance of his bid, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages for failure to do so.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish an acceptance performance bond in the amount of One Hundred Percent (100%) of the contract price, and a certificate of insurance.
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive formalities and to negotiate with the apparent qualified best bidder to such extent as may be in the City’s best interest.
